Favorite Pixar Song: Woody’s Roundup - Toy Story 2 (1999)
If ever a song so well fit a movie, or a character, or even a theme of what it’s representing, it is Woody’s Roundup. For those of you who know me well (which aren’t very much of you because I like to keep to myself), you know that I really dislike Randy Newman’s composing, but seeing as how many of the Pixar soundtracks or composed by him, it was slim pickings, and after having made the graphic I realized my actual favorite Pixar song is Le Festin from Ratatouille (2007). BUT I’m going to talk about Woody’s Roundup.
I actually had the Woody’s Roundup CD growing up. No, not the Toy Story 2 soundtrack, but the actual Woody’s Roundup CD.

My brother actually owned it, and he’d listen to it over and over again. And I had to bear it. Over and over again. And I hated it. But after we’ve gotten older and I redeveloped my love for Disney, I’ve found myself wanting to listen to this song quite often. And it’s not even necessarily that I LIKE it, but I’m nostalgic for it, I guess. Anyway, this song always makes me smile.
Like:
•Oh it’s Tuesday! That means we’re only having villains!
or…
•Sorry Pocahontas, you don’t work on Wednesdays! But like the ones who have specific places like Ariel’s Grotto would be out all the time. And Mickey.
BUT SERIOUSLY THOUGH THEN WE COULD GET…
Character schedules… Hmmm… Beginning of every month. That sounds good to me. But it’d be for the NEXT month. Like they’d release the May schedule at the beginning of April. Yes, that sounds muy bueno to me.

BUT SERIOUSLY THOUGH THEN WE COULD GET ALL THESE SPECIAL CHARACTERS, AND THEY’D STILL BE SPECIAL BECAUSE THEY’D ONLY BE OUT ONCE A WEEK.
LIKE DO WE HAVE ANY OLIVER AND COMPANY OR BUG’S LIFE CHARACTERS OUT? NO! AND DO THE PIXIE HOLLOW FAIRIES REALLY HAVE TO BE OUT EVERY DAY? NO! MAKE ROOM FOR PEOPLE LIKE FIX-IT FELIX OR SOMETHING. COME ON.
It was so cool because I plugged my charger into my computer and it started sparking. Not regular sparks. HUGE sparks. Then the wire just snapped and it stopped. And now I have no computer. Woo.

Least Favorite Song: Be Our Guest - Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Gosh where do I even begin? It’s annoying. It’s clichéd, it’s over the top, and everyone seems to freaking love it. However, it’s NOT AS OVERRATED AS ANOTHER RENAISSANCE SONG, which I’ll eventually get to. But Jesus Christ does this song get real old real fast. It’s like Alan Menken wrote this song with the mindset ‘I’ll write a song that will always be stuck in everyone’s head and will never leave anyone alone!’ Oh, and the food lyrics. Come on Ashman. Come on. It’s literally a song about dinner. And it’s the song that everyone remembers. I hate this song. Always have, always will. And after being in a production of this show, I’m not sure there’s a single song in the movie that I DO like. Maybe Belle. But anyway. My least favorite. Right here.

Favorite Song: Reflection - Mulan (1998)
There were a bunch of songs I was considering picking for this category. First off, the lyrics are just beautiful, and I’m sure at one point or another, everyone’s felt how Mulan’s felt: like a disappointment. Paired with Lea Salonga’s vocals in the film and Christina Aguilera’s vocal-run-heavy cover, this song is truly a work of musical genius and beauty.
